WALLINGFORD >> A 19-year-old Waterbury woman was arrested Thursday on several drug charges after local police said they found heroin and crack cocaine inside a false container inside her vehicle.
Kiana Rodriguez, of Waterbury, was arrested and charged with sale of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics and possession of a controlled substance, according to a release from Wallingford police. Police said they saw a green 1998 Hyundai Accent involved in a drug transaction near North Colony Road, leading to a motor vehicle stop on the vehicle. Rodriguez was identified as the car’s operator.
After a search of the car with assistance from a department K-9, police said they found 120 wax folds of heroin and 13 bags of crack cocaine weighing about 4.2 grams inside a false container. Police seized $153 in cash, five cell phones and a prescription painkiller, according to the release.
Rodriguez was also charged with misuse of registration plates, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating with no insurance.
Rodriguez was released on a $50,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on August 24 in Meriden.
