Wallingford Police have arrested an attorney and client following an investigation stemming from complaints of narcotic sales over the past few months.

On June 6, police witnessed a hand-to-hand transaction in the driveway at 20 Mountain View Road in Wallingford. Detectives took Heather McKee, 39, and Attorney James McCann, 68, into custody following the exchange.

McCann, of 46 Oakdale Circle, was found to have purchased 40 bags of heroin from McKee, who has previously used the name Heather Stairs.

During a subsequent search of McKee’s residence, police found 100 bags of heroin along side another bag that contained 2.5 grams of powder heroin, packaging materials and a digital scale. $3,000 was also seized.

McKee was purchasing heroin in powder form and filling the smaller bags she was selling. In addition to the heroin, she was in possession of Suboxone and Xanax in which she does not have a prescription for.

McCann, who previously defended McKee in criminal proceedings, was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on $5,000 bond.

McKee was charged with operating a drug factory, sale of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on a $50,000 bond. Both are scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Count on June 20.
